Ridley Park Store Opens

In 2012, Talluto’s found a home in the tight-knit business community of Ridley Park in Delaware County. This location is in so many ways like our original neighborhood in Southwest Philadelphia! Here you will find the 2nd and 3rd generations of the Talluto family serving many of original and new customers and their families.

Manufacturing Expands Again

The family outgrows it's production facility in Norristown and acquires a 50,000 sq. ft. facility in Folcroft (current company headquarters).

Norristown Store Opens

After moving manufacturing to the Norristown area, the Talluto's family quickly discovered the strong passion for food and Italian culture that exists here. The store offers a large variety of prepared Italian foods as well as a selection of Italian sandwiches made to order.

A Second Generation of Leadership

Joseph A.M. Talluto assumes leadership of the company and in response to growing demand, expands manufacturing with the opening of a 27,000 sq. ft. facility in Norristown, PA. The expansion allows the company to double its product line and acquire the Prima Pasta Company.

Expanded Manufacturing

The product line expands to include flat cut pastas, Tortellini, and USDA approved meat products and begins marketing in the Food Service segment. The growing business causes the family to relocate and expand manufacturing with a move from Elmwood Avenue to a 7,500 sq. ft. facility at 29th and Ellsworth Streets in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Italian Market Store Opens

Partner Rick DeMatteo joins the team and the family opens its 9th Street Store in the Philadelphia Italian Market. The Italian Market is a neighborhood where people live, shop, and work as part of the Italian legacy that has always been a way of life. Talluto’s fits right in with their passion for quality ingredients and truly authentic pasta. The shop is a great success with customers including some of Philadelphia’s top restaurant owners and chefs.

First Production Facility

Joseph and his son, Joseph A.M. Talluto set up an 800 sq. ft. factory across the street from the Elmwood Avenue Store.

Talluto's is Founded

At age 67, Joseph Talluto, after a career as a chef in the Philadelphia area, sells the family house and purchases a ravioli machine. The original Talluto's Store opens at 61st Street and Elmwood Avenue in southwest Philadelphia.

Arriving in the U.S.

The Talluto's family arrives in the U.S. aboard the S.S. Italia.

  • "For years my father spoke of one day opening his own ravioli store. In fact, it was often considered a joke around the house. I’m not sure anyone, but he, knew how serious a dream this was... until the day he set forth to pursue it.”

    — Joseph A.M. Talluto, President Talluto’s Authentic Italian Food, Inc.
