Joseph A.M. Talluto is co-founder and current President / CEO of Talluto’s Authentic Italian Food, Inc. Upon completing military service in 1967, Joseph helped his father pursue his long-time dream of opening his own Ravioli store. In October of 1967, Talluto’s opened its doors to friends and neighbors, offering only 4 pasta items including the same signature cheese ravioli Talluto’s sells today.
In 1981, Joseph assumed leadership of the company from his father and incorporated his family’s business as Talluto’s Authentic Italian Food, Inc. This corporate filing was joined by a major expansion in manufacturing capacity. In June of that year, Talluto’s grew from its 7500 sq. ft. manufacturing facility to a 25,000 sq. ft. USDA certified facility and expanded its offerings to nearly 80 fresh and frozen pasta products.
Literally growing up in the family business, Joe Talluto began his career packaging homemade cheese ravioli, stocking shelves with canned tomatoes and working along side his grandfather tying knots of fresh mozzarella cheese for customers to enjoy. At a very early age, Joe learned first-hand the values instilled by his father and grandfather to never compromise product quality, appreciate the opportunity to serve your customer, and to take pride in every job you do.
Joanne Brown has worked in her family’s business since her days at Strath Haven high school. Since the age of 16, she spent weekends and summers as prep cook, line chef, sous chef and ultimately executive chef of Talluto’s Philadelphia Italian Market store. She currently has 17 years of professional experience in the food service industry and holds a Bachelor Degree in Speech Communication and an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University. Joanne currently works as a liaison between Talluto’s manufacturing operations and retail operations, focusing on new product development and product consistency among multiple retail outlets.
When Joanne is not developing Talluto’s product line, she enjoys experimenting with different recipes for her family at home; many of which make their way on to menus at Talluto’s brand stores.
Angel began her career with Talluto's in 1983 at the ripe age of 12 working in the family's original storefront in Southwest Phila. She has 22 years of professional experience in the food service industry having satisfied a range of roles from retail store management to foodservice sales and marketing. Angel holds a BA in Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University Haub School of Business (THWND!!) where she achieved her undergraduate degree in Food Marketing. Since graduating in May of 1996, Angel has applied much of her education to her family’s business. Not only has she influenced many of the company’s Sales strategies, but she also structured the company’s current Administrative, Finance and Human Resources departments.
Alicia graduated from Widener University in December 2015. She completed both her undergraduate degree in Accounting and her Master’s in Business Administration while in attendance. She was lucky enough to find herself a graduate assistantship with Widener’s Small Business Development Center while completing her masters. This not only introduced and gave her knowledge about the world of small and family operated businesses but she also meet Joe Talluto through her work. After a year of working with Talluto’s and other small business she was able to turn her experience into a full-time job with Talluto’s in February 2016. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending shows and sporting events, and staying active by running and playing tennis.
