Fried Pasta Campfire Treat

This yummy recipe is our take on the traditional campfire s'mores treat. We use fried pasta in place of the graham crackers and replace the chocolate bars with chocolate hazelnut spread!

Category: Cut Pasta

For 9 Serving(s)

To fry the pasta

1 lb Talluto's fresh egg pasta sheets (3 sheets)
2 quarts canola oil

To assemble the s'mores:

18 large marshmallows
1 small jar chocolate hazelnut spread (about 7 oz.)
8 fresh sliced strawberries or raspberries
0.5 cup whipped cream, to garnish

Fried Pasta Campfire Treat Directions

  1. Cut each pasta sheet in half lengthwise and into thirds widthwise to create 6 small pasta squares. You should have a total of 18 squares.
  2. Heat the canola oil to 350 degrees in a pot on the stove or in a deep-fryer.
  3. When the oil reaches temperature, drop the pasta squares into the oil (3 at a time) and allow them to cook until the pasta is golden and bubbly, approximately 1 minute on each side.
  4. Remove the fried pasta from the oil and allow them to cool and drain on a clean paper towel.
  5. Put the chocolate hazelnut spread into a pastry bag or a zip sandwich bag. This will allow you to easily drizzle the chocolate onto the pasta.
  6. Begin toasting the marshmallows over a campfire. This step can also be done in a preheated 375-degree oven. Place marshmallows on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake in the oven for 1-2 minutes, until slightly browned.
  7. Spread about 1 tbsp of the chocolate hazelnut spread onto 9 of the fried pasta squares.
  8. Once the marshmallows are toasted, place them on top of the fried pasta over the chocolate hazelnut spread.
  9. Using the remaining 9 fried pasta squares, top each marshmallow to complete the sandwiches.
  10. Dollop each square with a bit of whipped cream.
  11. Garnish with the sliced strawberries and a drizzle of chocolate hazelnut spread.
